Eugene Curry

Eugene Curry, of Mason, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 28, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born Friday, December 22, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to Donald and Dorothy (Burns) Curry. Gene grew up in Los Angeles and was a proud graduate of UCLA, class of 1962.

Gene and his wife Barbara (Nugent) Curry celebrated their 57th anniversary on Sunday, June 27th. Gene and Barbara were married in California and soon afterward moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Gene worked for Proctor and Gamble for 34 years and retired as the manager of the real estate department.

The Curry home was constantly buzzing with laughter and love and continued to grow with three children and eight grandchildren. Gene was a family man. He loved coaching his children's soccer teams, biking and running with his daughters, and golfing with his son. He loved fishing with his grandchildren, captaining them on his boat around Landen lake and hosting them in the backyard pool.

He also loved the life-long circle of friends that became family. This larger family was built upon decades of shared lives including numerous road trips, holidays, dinners, births, weddings, and funerals. These relationships were a joyous and loving part of Gene's life.

Gene will be forever loved and cherished.

Gene was preceded in death by: parents, Donald and Dorothy Curry; and sister, Diane Odegaard.

Gene is survived by: his loving wife, Barbara; children, Kathy (Clayton) Sheeler, Colleen (Chris) Powers, and Chip (Chris Goosman) Curry; grandchildren, Sarah Sheeler, Jamie Sheeler, Kayla Sheeler, Cole Sheeler, Alex (Anna Baerman) Powers, Zach (Emily Wood) Powers, Garrett Powers, and Ada Curry; brother-in-law, Jerry Odegaard; in-laws, Gary and Diane Nugent; and many loving family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life party will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:30 pm at the Clubhouse on Landen Lake, on Island Road Maineville, Ohio 45039. Directions
