Eugene Milborn Tibbs

Eugene Milborn Tibbs , 93, end of watch September 25th, 2023. He passed away peacefully at his assisted living facility. He was born August 22nd, 1930 to his parents in Hazel Green, Kentucky. He was the youngest son amongst 6 siblings.

He joined the army and was drafted in 1946. During his time in the service, he was deployed to Germany, Hawaii, Korea 4 times, and Alaska for 2 years. During one of his deployments, he traveled via ship from New York, through Panama to Hawaii. During his career in the military, he was promoted to Sergeant E7 before retiring. He also taught ROTC at Kent State University. He received many medals and honors for his knowledge of arms.

During his teaching at Kent State, he met his first wife Jackie. In 1966, his first biological daughter Christine was born, he would later adopt her sister Michaelanne.

After his 20 years in the service, he also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for approximately 10 years.

In approximately 1984, he married his second wife, Elaine. They had a happy marriage until she passed away in 2012. Although he didn't say it out loud often, his love for his family was known.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Reva, Arnold, Red, and Ada, his beautiful wife Elaine, and his daughters; Michaelanne, and Christine.

He is survived by his sister, Leona, stepchildren Tammy and Robbie, grandchildren, Ashley (Luke), Elizabeth (Terry), TJ, Stephen (Kaylee), Charlie, and Kyle. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

Visitation at at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Wednesday, October 4 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Dayton National Cemetery located at 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428
