Frances Powell

Frances Powell (nee Logan), 100, of West Chester passed away on April 4, 2025, at her home. Born to Robert and Ila (nee Watts) Logan on December 10, 1924, in Leatherwood, Kentucky.

Frances was a hairdresser her entire life. Working coast to coast, and everywhere her husband moved for the military she went and did hair. She was loved by so many people; she listened to their stories, and she became their friend.

Frances had a love for life. She took every day as it came and enjoyed all the moments whether they were big or small. She had a passion for making people smile. Frances was crafty, sewed and knit many things over the years. Some of the best things she created were the matching Christmas outfits for all the ladies at the salon. She brought joy to many people.

Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ila Logan, husband, Billy Wayne Powell, her siblings, Esther Holcome, Virgil, Wilard, Howard, Emme and Agnes Logan.

Frances is survived by her loving niece, Dixie (Bill) Wright, great niece and nephew, Keith (Ashley) Wright and Amberley (Kevin) Schaaf, great great nieces and nephews, Braxton Schrenk, Kadriana Schrenk, Griffin Schrenk, Andersen Schaaf, Sebastian Wright and Jocelyn Wright, and Sister, Ruth Bustle of West Chester, OH and Brother, Clayton Logan of Anderson, IN and many extended family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 11:00AM at West Chester Cemetery, 6425 West Chester Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
