Francis E. Nichols

Francis E. Nichols, of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully April 1, 2024 at the age of 94.  He was born October 27, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Raymond Edward and Catherine (nee Lohrum) Nichols.

Fran served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  An honorably discharged veteran, he married the love of his life, Rita D. Gramann, on December 1, 1951 in Holy Family Parish of Price Hill.  The couple welcomed four children to their home filled with love and laughter.  An avid outdoorsman, Fran appreciated a well manicured lawn.  He enjoyed getting out on the course with his golf league from work.  Fran will be forever remembered for being a quiet humble man that showered those he loved with caring moments.

Fran was preceded in death by: parents, Raymond and Catherine Nichols; son-in-law, RJ Cadden; and siblings, Leroy Nichols, Frederick Nichols, Charles Nichols, and Alvina Reed.

Fran is survived by: wife of 72 years, Rita Nichols; children, Kathy (Mark) O'Brien, Peggy Cadden, Diane (Steve) Harnist, and Jerry (Tracy) Nichols; grandchildren, Kevin, Lindsay, Julie, Craig, Kerry, Bob, Patrick, Vanessa, Ryan, Joshua, Jeremy, Kendall, and Kameron; numerous beloved great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Eha; and many loving family members and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
