Frank grew up in Mason, graduated from Wm. Mason High School, then studied pre-med at Miami University, where he joined Sigma Chi Fraternity. There, on a blind date, he met the love of his life, Libby. After Miami, he continued his education at Ohio State University, and during this time, he married Libby and started a family. Upon graduation in 1957 from OSU, he received his degree, Doctor of Dental Surgery. Now with three daughters, Betsy, Priscilla and Jenny, Frank joined the Army as a Captain. He and Libby moved their family to Ft. Knox, KY, serving in the Army hospital as a dentist. The family added one more daughter, Margaret. His next move was to return in 1960 to Mason, Ohio, where he started his dental practice. The family welcomed a son, Frank, two years later.
Frank practiced dentistry for almost 35 years in Mason and cared for many generations of families. He served the community for 15 years as a school board member, and as president. The quality of education in Mason schools was of utmost importance to him and in later years he was very proud of its fine reputation. He also served as President of the Mason Historical Society and helped it thrive.
Frank was an avid reader and a constant learner. He had knowledge, hobbies and interests too numerous to list- a real “Renaissance Man.” He enjoyed traveling, genealogy, gardening, boating, golfing, the Bengals, Reds and OSU Football, and raising every kind of farm animal. Frank welcomed everyone in his home, and maintaining lifetime friendships was very important to him.
Frank and Libby always put family first. They raised their family in a Christian home and Mason Presbyterian Church was his place of worship since childhood.
His grandchildren loved the summers spent at their farm, swimming, camping, field trips to museums, and learning how to ride a pony or make apple cider. He and Libby kept up on every grandchild and each one felt special and loved. He also enjoyed his many great-grandchildren, delighting as each one was born. He knew them by name and something special about each one.
Frank celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage to Libby. He was generous and kind, lived a full and happy life, and his legacy lives on through his family and all who knew him.
