Gary R. Bolte, 75 of West Chester, passed away August 6, 2022 with his family by his side. Our warrior fought a three-year battle with cancer. Gary was born December 16, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Richard and Ethel Bolte (nee Finke).
Gary graduated from Saint Xavier High School and majored in mechanical engineering in college.
He is survived by his loving wife Lois Bolte, son Chris Bolte (Katie), daughter Amy Bolte Zink (Kyle), siblings Richard (Teresa) Bolte and Pat (Barry Farmer) Jones, grandchildren Allie and Macie Bolte and Audrey Zink.
Soon after college, he joined his father at Agean. He created a successful bathroom manufacturing business that expanded into hot tubs and many other products. He left a legacy with his employees, customers, and suppliers. He enjoyed seeing Agean grow into a multi-store, multi-state company.
Gary was always the life of the party, the supportive coach, the prepared one for a camping trip. He was a supportive parent to his own children as well as so many kids that were not his biological children. He was the one always having fun on the golf course, telling entertaining stories on the boat dock, and he was always ready for the next adventure. After his children graduated from The Ohio State University, he always said that there is only one real football team in Ohio. We now know the Buckeyes have an extra fan cheering them on from heaven.
Gary cherished his many friendships over the years, but his most prized procession was his family. He had a heart of gold for his kids. He treated his kids’ spouses as if they were his own. He adored his three grandchildren. Lois has been a true Saint through all the struggles over these last few years. Gary, until the end, had a sparkle in his eye for her and loved her with every bit of his heart.
Gary loved to travel. His favorite destination was Maui. His love of the beautiful sunsets, the ocean, an occasional whale breach and a tropical breeze brought him so much joy.
We cannot thank our friends and family enough for the support over the last few years. We want to thank the staff of MD Anderson Cancer Center and The James at The Ohio State University for giving us extra time with Gary. A special thank you to our close friends and family for assistance getting into these facilities, friends and family in the medical field that were constant advisors, and all the people that have supported us along the way.
