Glen Edward Rowe

Glen Edward Rowe, foodie, baseball lover, my soul-mate, perfect father, perfect man, perfect human being and my Captain America, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019. He has left a permanent void in my heart that will never be filled.

His culinary skills started when he worked as a cook at Bob Evans as a youth in Toledo, Ohio. His love for Indian food was born when he lived in England working for Perot Systems. He only used fresh ingredients, dried spices were inferior for a good meal. Our kitchen was full of the wonderful aromas of garlic, ginger, curry powder, turmeric, coriander, cayenne pepper, cilantro and garam masala to name a few. He made dishes such as Indian Chicken Curry (Murgh Kari), Chana Masala and Aloo Gobi. But Glen never strayed away from his Polish roots always ate the kielbasa from Stanley’s butcher shop.

Glen and I were married 16 years ago in McKinney, TX and we lived there for almost 20 years. He was and always will be my Prince Charming, my Rock, my Life, my Everything. He was my trophy in life, my diamond. I loved him and will love him forever. We had our miracle baby, Ava Grace Rowe in 2008 before moving to Cincinnati, OH. He was the best father on the planet. I reminded Ava of that daily. He was extremely involved in her life. Being a registered nurse, I worked very long days and nights. He was a Mr. Mom surpassed by no one. He taught Ava the importance of keeping your word and being responsible. He taught her how to play chess, checkers, UNO, and they enjoyed many rounds of Beat the Parents. We have a very large backyard we had a large wooden swing set and trampoline there. Many days and nights were spent there with about 15 children from the neighborhood playing there all at one time.

Glen would have made an excellent comedian. He loved stand-up comedy. He loved movies. He would have made a great director. He loved old Kung Fu movies such as Drunken Master with Jackie Chan, The Big Boss with Bruce Lee, and The Master of the Flying Guillotine, along with old western movies he called “spaghetti westerns”.

Glen was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 3, 1969 to Sally Gawecki (Krasinksi) and Bruce Rowe, He is survived by his brother Doug (Christina) Rowe, stepfather and stepmother Bruce and Susan Gawecki, stepmother Barb Rowe, stepbrother Adam (Gabrielle) Krauss and stepbrother Corey (Julie) Krauss. He was loved dearly by Aunts Pat, Debbie and Ellen, and his Uncle Eddie and Uncle Jack. He will be severely missed by all of his nieces and nephews and cousins and very large extended family. My family absolutely adored him. He provided technical support for several generations of our families.

Glen was proud of his service in Army, in which he enlisted right after high school. He was stationed at the Fort Hood Military Base in Killeen, TX. He also took pride in his service in the Gulf War, also known Operation Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia. Because of his tour there, he was garnered with the National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Sharp Shooter Badge Rifle, Army Lapel Button, and South West Asia Medal with three bronze service stars and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.

After the Army he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computers at DevRy University in Irving, TX and right after started working at Perot Systems as a computer engineer. He loved working there because Ross Perot was owned the company. Ross Perot was a Marine and he loved working at Perot Systems for its military discipline and integrity. He was a genius with computers. He had his computer lab in our basement with many computers parts.

He will also be severely missed by all of his coworkers, friends and family around the world and in states who loved him. I was told he touched the lives of many people, and indeed, he did.
