Greg Fahnestock

Greg Steven Fahnestock , 65 of Trenton, OH passed away on September 23 , 2022. Born to Douglas and Merle (nee Mullins) Fahnestock on July 21, 1957, in Perryville, Missouri.

Greg was a woodworker and an outdoorsman at heart. He loved to shoot at the range, fish , and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed attending the St Louis Blues hockey games with his family, watching football on Sundays, and playing tennis with his brother and friends no matter how hot it was outside.  Always quick with a joke, he could lighten the mood of almost any situation.  Through his hobbies he shared his passion for life with his family, friends, and everyone else around him.

Greg was a strong minded, determined, and driven person. Nowhere was this more evident than in his passion for working at Opex, his employer for over 35 years.  Starting as a technician, he worked his way up to Senior Director of Warehouse Automation.  Along the way he mentored, trained, and hired dozens of people; some of whom would go on to become his peers at the senior level.  His ability to listen and provide the best advice for any situation was unmatched.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a member of the American Legion Lodge #0072.

He is preceded in death by his parents.  Greg was a devoted father and husband, survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Melinda (nee Gegg) Fahnestock, beloved son, Matthew (Rachel Ritter) Fahnestock, two brothers, Terry (Betty) Fahnestock and David (Jan) Fahnestock, brother-in-law, David (Cathy) Gegg and nieces, nephews.  He will be greatly missed by family, friends, colleagues and neighbors.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28 ^th from 2:00-4:00PM with a memorial service at 4:00PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road Mason, OH 45040.
