Helen M. Epperson (nee Tourangeau), of Monroe, Ohio, passed away March 24, 2024 at the age of 99. She was born May 29, 1924 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Frederick J. and Ella (nee Beach) Tourangeau.
Helen graduated as a member of the National Honors Society from Holyoke High. Following a short four-month courtship, Helen married the love of her life, Edward L. Epperson, Sr. After a two year deployment, the couple began their family and started a new family business, E.L. Epperson and Son where Helen was the treasurer and many other roles for over 40 years.
An avid sports fan, Helen enjoyed all sports and supported the Monroe Hornets, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals teams. She looked forward to her monthly card games where she made lifelong friendships. Helen loved her family deeply, finding herself a Den Leader and Troop Leader. She enjoyed traveling and discovering new places. Helen will be forever loved and cherished by all that knew her.
Helen was preceded in death by: parents, Frederick and Ella Tourangeau; husband, Edward L. Epperson, Sr.; and son, Edward L. Epperson, Jr.
Helen is survived by: children, Jane (Donald) Elam, Jeffrey (Deborah) Epperson, and Ellen Epperson; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held by the family.
