Helen A. Herz

Helen A. Herz, (nee Torbush), formerly of Somers, New York, passed away peacefully Monday, November 20, 2023 at the age of 87.  She was born July 1, 1936 in Flushing, New York to James and Annette (nee Jankowiak) Torbush.

After raising her family, Helen began her professional career at St. John’s University in Jamaica, NY, followed by a career at TIAA-CREF in New York, NY.  She enjoyed travel and looked forward to annual trips exploring various regions of Europe.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, James & Annette Torbush; and her husband, J. Robert Herz.

Helen is survived by her 4 children: Helen Laub, Catherine (Michael) Bach, Warren (Helen Pritsiolas) Herz, and Susan (Tom) Veale; 11 grandchildren: Yasmine (Shawn) Daulton, Mounia (Adam) Rankin, Sherif (Cherene) Ismail, Terek Kelly, Christine (Ray) Reece, Sara Ledger, Valerie (Thomas) Schantz, Joanne (Anthony) Ventimiglia, Bobby Herz, Michael (Kate) Veale, and Meaghan Veale; and 19 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023 beginning at 9:00 AM at St. Gertrude the Great RC Church, 4900 Rialto Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069.  Rosary will begin at 11:00 AM with Requiem Mass at 11:25 AM at St. Gertrude the Great.

Burial will take place at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery in Flushing, New York on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM.
