Ian Alexander McCurrach, age 77, passed away on March 23, 2025. He was born in Dundee, Scotland, on March 10, 1948, to George and Maggie (née Ritchie) McCurrach.

Ian attended The University of St. Andrews, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He met Pamela Ward in high school, and they continued their journey together at St. Andrews, marrying in 1970. Ian is survived by his wife Pamela, sons Fraser (Jennifer) McCurrach, Gregor (Kathleen) McCurrach, and Gordon McCurrach, along with his much-loved grandchildren Ronan, Caleigh, Gemma, and Lachlan. He is also remembered by his siblings Ken (Joy) McCurrach and Jane (Charlie) Shelley, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Professionally, Ian had an esteemed career as the Chief Information Officer at Reuters from 1973 until 1997, after which he held the same position at Lexis Nexis until his retirement in 2000. His career provided him with numerous opportunities, allowing his family to live in diverse locations including London, England; Paris, France; Geneva, Switzerland; New York, New York; before finally settling in Mason, Ohio.

Throughout his life, Ian engaged in various hobbies, most notably playing rugby for St. Andrews and the Sudbury Court Rugby Football Club. As he transitioned away from rugby, he enjoyed playing golf and riding his Harley Davidsons.

Above all, Ian enjoyed good food, good wine, a good cigar, and loved spending quality time with his family.

A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Mueller Funeral Home (6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040), starting at 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. A gathering featuring refreshments will follow at Heritage Club (6690 Heritage Club Dr. Mason, OH 45040)
