Jacob Allen Langbein

May 10, 1999 — May 24, 2021

Jacob Allen Langbein, of Mason, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at the young age of 22. He was born Monday, May 10, 1999, in Columbus, Ohio to R. Jason and Crystal L. (nee Dillon) Langbein.

Jake enjoyed playing baseball and football growing up and was a passionate Ohio State Buckeyes Fan. He was a true team player and was always willing to do what was best for the team as a whole. We are thankful to the many coaches and teammates he had over the years for the life lessons he learned in sports.

His time spent in the William Mason Marching Band was some of the happiest time in his life, and he was very proud to be part of that organization. He was as passionate about music as he was sports and proved his talent with both the trombone and sousaphone while in the marching band.

If there was a body of water, Jake has most likely fished in it. If he hadn't fished it, then he wanted to. He certainly wasn't fussy about where he went and could manage to pull a fish out of just about anywhere. He cherished the time he could spend with his friends fishing.

A quiet thinker, Jake always focused on the happiness of others, and was always ready with a smile, a hug, or a joke to cheer someone up and make them smile. He never hesitated to offer a hand up to someone hurting or in need and was extremely loyal and protective of his friends and family. He will be forever cherished by those that loved him and remembered by those he came into contact with.

Jake was preceded in death by: paternal grandfather, John R. Langbein, paternal step-grandfather Thomas A. Folden, and paternal step-grandmother Jean Langbein.

Jake is survived by: parents, Jason and Crystal Langbein; sister, Kaitlyn Langbein; brother, Zachary Langbein; paternal grandmother, Rebecca (nee Hollingshead) Folden; maternal grandparents, Bill E. and Debra (nee DeGrange) Dillon, Jr.; and many loving family members and friends.
