James P Knight

Retired Lieutenant Colonel James Phillip Knight, 63 of Maineville, passed away on August 13, 2022. Born to Joe Pat and Francis Jane (nee McCall) Knight on November 28, 1958, in Wayne, Michigan.

James was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country for 34 years before retiring in 2010. He was a devoted and dedicated veteran working most of his military career in intelligence.

James had a heart to serve. Whether it was in his church or his community. He volunteered many hours of time doing mission work all over the world. James and his wife even met in Florida on a mission trip during Hurricane Wilma.

He enjoyed continuing to expand his knowledge of history, the Civil War and World War II.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Francis Knight, siblings, Steve Knight, Richard ‘Chip’ Knight and Patty Knight and brother-in-law, Mark Tengler.

James is survived by his loving wife, Susan (nee Tengler) Knight, and two brothers-in-law, Johny Tengler and David Tengler.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 29 ^th at 11:00AM at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428.

Memorial donations may be made in James’s name to Life Forward, Pregnancy Care of Cincinnati.
