James Edward Murray

Dr. James E. Murray, Jr., of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of South Carolina, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at the age of 84. He was born Wednesday, August 12, 1936, in Farmington, West Virginia to James Edward and Opal (nee Johnson) Murray, Sr.

An honorably discharged veteran, Jim was proud of his service as a United States Marine. While he held a couple different occupations in life, it was not until he finally answered his call to ministry that he felt complete. Jim brought the word of the Lord to those serving time in jail. Knowing he helped hearts accept the love of Jesus truly defined his character. He will be forever loved and cherished by those that knew him.

Jim was preceded in death by: parents, James and Opal Murray, Sr.

Jim is survived by: wife, Linda (nee Buskill) Murray; daughters, Lori (Mike) Bishop and Deborah Murray; grandchildren, Michael Bishop Jr., Joy (Phill) Medley, and Katie Murray Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Phillip Medley, Keeton Medley, and Grayson Medley; siblings, Jane Singer, Jack (Donna) Murray, and John (Lilly) Murray; and many loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 11:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Interment will immediately follow in Landmark Memorial Gardens.
