James "Jim" D. Suer, Sr. 85 of Mason, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. Born to Werner and Hedwig (nee Haumesser) Suer on September 5, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jim was a loving husband, father and devoted grandfather. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. They were a source of great pride. He raised his children to be strong and independent, with a "teach a man to fish" mentality, while at the same time taking time to foster their interests and talents. He was a loving husband to Pat for over 64 years. They shared many adventures together and a love of travel that took them all over the world. He worked for Cincinnati Milacron for over 42 years. He was an engineer in the truest sense of the word. He was awarded several patents, he could fix anything and everything, and never once called a repairman or took his cars to a mechanic. Jim expressed his passion for life through his music and photography. He was a classically trained pianist. He and Pat enjoyed attending the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops for many years. Through his photography, he chronicled his growing family and took stunning photos of nature. He had many other hobbies including woodworking, sailing, riding his bike, feeding the birds and outsmarting the squirrels. Jim was the strong and silent type, but when he spoke, it was always something worth hearing. He was kind, loving and quick witted. He was very strong in his catholic faith. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Hedwig Suer, and siblings, Robert and William Suer and Rita Christensen.
Jim is survived by his wife; Pat A. (nee Henry), children; Sharon (Doug) Russell, Laura (Bruce) Weir, Jenny (Bernie) Durham, Kate (Paul) Fleitz, James (Leah) Suer, Jr. and Michael (Mindy) Suer, grandchildren Jarrod, Alex, Haylee, Olivia, Grace, Ben, Annie, Emily, Edward, Romie, Carson, Brent and Nathan, and his great-grandson Felix.
