Janet Lee Rash (Frith), 83, of West Chester, OH passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2020 at her home.
Preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Gravely Frith and Irene (Coffey) Frith.
Janet is survived by husband Harold Wayne Rash, sons; Larry W. Rash and Tim (Beth) Rash, grandchildren; Connor P., Mick N. and Natalie D. Rash, sister; Doris Lynn Mathews, brother-in-law Billy Rash, nephews Kelly R. Hale and Denny Brock; nieces Michelle Brock, Mika and Courtney Saylor.
Born in Hiatt, KY or the “Oak Hill" area, which was in the country near Brodhead, KY.
Mother was a member of the Brodhead Baptist church and was baptized at the age of thirteen in the Dix River that runs through Brodhead.
She was a 1954 graduate Brodhead High School and went to Campbellsville College in Campbellsville, KY, for a summer business course.
She met Harold Rash on a blind date in November 1955 and married him 10 months later on September 1st, 1956 at the Brodhead Baptist Church, Brodhead, KY.
She was an active church member, beginning at Winslow Park Baptist Church in Sharonville. Harold joined her there and was baptized in 1961. She and Harold both taught Preschool Sunday school classes. Harold was the director of the four-year olds and Janet was the director of the five year olds, along with volunteering for several other committees and groups.
She worked at Siebler Tailoring Co. on Fourth St., in downtown Cincinnati, OH and made lifelong friends there. Mom later worked at the University of Cincinnati Medical College in the Biometrics Department compiling data. Janet worked at several other businesses in administrative roles before finding a job suggested by her son, Larry. She became a Sales Assistant with Ryland Homes and worked there for 12 years as West Chester grew.
In retirement, Harold and Janet started "Rash Christmas Trees," a business where you could come and cut your own Christmas tree. This was a fun time each year before Christmas.
Janet and Harold have traveled to all of the states in the United States except Connecticut, and have visited Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France, Scotland, Wales, England, Australia, New Zealand, Greece and Italy, along with several Caribbean islands,
Janet was a wonderful wife to Harold for 64 years. She loved her kids and especially her grandchildren. They were her light and inspiration. She was talented in crafting ceramics for many years and enjoyed sewing. Her faith was unwavering throughout her life. From a young girl to her last days the Lord was a part of her life.
Visitation will be at Tri County Baptist Church 8195 Beckett Road, West Chester, OH 45069 on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 10 AM until time of Service at 11:30 AM. Interment at West Chester Cemetery. MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT THE CHURCH. THANK YOU.
