Janet Rogers

Janet Marie (nee Scally) Rogers , 78 of West Chester, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Born to Nina Marie Willis and Robert Scally on April 2, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Janet adored her grandchildren more than anything. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, and the pride that she had for her people radiated from her always. Janet spent all the time that she could with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren showering them with unconditional love.

Janet was wise, loving and loyal. She never knew a stranger, only a friend she had not met yet. She would stop and talk to any and everyone, making friends wherever she went and leaving the world a better place. Janet's philosophy was to live one day at a time—a lesson she taught to many.

She was a dedicated friend and an even better mother. Janet was a devote Catholic who spent 28 years as a parishioner at Saint John the Evangelist Church. Janet lived a faithful life, following the word of our Mother Mary.

Preceded in death by her mother, Nina Marie (nee Willis) Scally, her father, Robert Scally, two sisters, Biddy Brown and Margaret Webb, and her brother Bobby Scally.

Janet is survived by her two loving children, Lisa (Mark) Hollstegge and Richard S. “Rick” (Allison) Rogers II, six grandchildren, Nicholas (Ali) Hollstegge, Brittany (Tyler) Picard, Tyler Hollstegge, Richard Rogers III, Kasey Hollstegge and Katherine Rogers, two great grandchildren, Brooks Hollstegge and Stella Hollstegge, two loving sisters, Nina Schorck and Sue Nevitt, sister-in-law, Linda Simon and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21st from 10:00am-11:00am and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am all at St John the Evangelist Church, 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorial Donations can be made in Janet’s name to Hospice of Cincinnati and Susan G Komen for the Cure.
