Janet Weingartner

April 14, 1942 — April 19, 2025

Janet Weingartner, age 83, peacefully passed away on April 19, 2025. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 14, 1942, she was the cherished daughter of Jay and Betty (nee Kennedy) Wilburn.

Janet's journey through life intertwined beautifully with love when she married Bobby, who preceded her in death on December 19, 2023, she was overjoyed she would be reunited in heaven with the love of her life Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and joy. Janet leaves behind her beloved children: Jay (Sheri) Weingartner, Mark (Tricia) Weingartner, and Cheri (Matt) Kieffer, along with her cherished grandchildren: Nic, Shane (Elizabeth), Jake, Kyle, Cara, and great-grandchild Paisley. She also is survived by her dear sister, Candy (Diati) Medley and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who adored her.

Janet's family was her universe, and she would go to great lengths for her children and grandchildren. As the matriarch, she was the heartbeat of family gatherings—hospitable to a fault, she hosted every holiday and celebration, ensuring cherished traditions continued year after year. Even as she grew tired, her spirit remained unwavering; her grandkids meant the world to her, and she loved them fiercely.

Her daily rituals were simple yet heartfelt, starting with her beloved cups of morning coffee. Janet enjoyed her time in the warmth of her kitchen, often perched on her stool watching Reds baseball, along with her favorite shows dateline, Maury, and price is right just to name a few. Facebook became a delightful extension of her life, allowing her to stay connected and engaged with loved ones, no matter the distance.

An avid traveler, Janet loved creating memories with family and friends, whether it was trips to Las Vegas, cruises, or warm escapes to Florida—where she had a home until she felt she couldn’t bear to be away from her grandkids for too long.

Janet was a devoted sister who played a significant role in raising her younger siblings. She had an open heart and an open home, frequently welcoming family and friends to stay whenever they needed support. Her bonds with close cousins were treasured, and she stayed connected, even amid her busy schedule of family and beloved television.

Professionally, she served as a secretary for much of her life, eventually taking an early retirement to babysit her first grandchild, Nic, and later continuing to care for each of her grandchildren during their formative years.
