Jean Mcdonald

Jean (nee Shortkroff) McDonald, 94 of West Chester Ohio and formerly of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away on April 18, 2023. Born to Morris and Elsie Shortkroff on January 11, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan.

Jean received degrees from Wayne State University and Oakland University. She was an educator in the South Lake School system for many years, teaching fourth grade, children with learning disabilities, and as a reading specialist. After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed her second career as a docent at the Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan for nearly 20 years.

Jean also enjoyed her many Bridge groups, playing golf and tennis, and spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph F McDonald, and her son Robert F McDonald.

Jean is survived by two children, Susan (James) Stover and Mark (Joselyn) McDonald; three grandchildren, Michael (Kate) Stover, Amy Stover, and Imaya McDonald; and two great grandchildren, Grayson and Emily Stover.
