Jeffrey Scott Altherr

Jeffrey Scott Altherr, 67 years, of Mason passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2021, following a long battle with colon cancer. He was born January 25, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert F. Altherr, Sr. and Gladys (nee Schulte) Altherr.

Jeff was a lifelong golfer and enthusiastic about riding and restoring old motorcycles, but his passion was for his family. Jeff's wife, Diane, and his children fondly remember family vacations to National Parks and the beach. Jeff was a dedicated father and coach of his children's baseball and soccer teams. After a career in engineering, Jeff enjoyed retirement with Diane, traveling as much as they could and spending time with family and friends. He found his true calling as a grandfather, and was affectionately known as Papa to his four loving grandchildren.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Robert Altherr, Sr. Jeff is survived by: wife of 42 years, Diane M. (nee Breitenbach) Altherr; daughter, Carrie (Daniel) Little; son, Brian (Julie Hellings) Altherr; grandchildren, Parker & Anna Little and Alexis & Madison Altherr; mother, Gladys (nee Schulte) Altherr; siblings, Robert F. (Christina) Altherr Jr., Karen (Richard) Johnson, Evelyn Altherr, and Leslie (Ron) Galley; and many loving family members and friends.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A memorial service for family will be announced at a later date.
