Jerry Wayne Claxton

Jerry Wayne Claxton , of Camden, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, March 9 , 2023 at the age of 76.  He was born Wednesday, October 30 , 1946 in Faber, Kentucky.

Jerry was a talented skier and enjoyed sharing this love with those he cared about.  With his cut-offs and life jacket, Jerry could walk on water, literally.  Learning how to waterski gave Jerry the opportunity to barefoot and perform incredible stunts with his family and close friends behind the boat at one time.  He created a lifetime of memories with many people on the Ohio River, camping, boating, and of course, skiing.  An avid outdoorsman, Jerry loved being with and taking care of his horses or out riding his motorcycle.  There was something about being out with nature that brought Jerry a sense of calm.  Jerry will be remembered for his simple ways that left a huge impact on the hearts of those he loved.

Jerry was preceded in death by: father, Arthur Claxton; mother, Bessie Godsey; and siblings, Carol Flynn and Johnny Sullivan.

Jerry is survived by: mother, Ruth Claxton; sons, Shannon Claxton and Shaye Claxton; grandchildren, Idines Zuluaga, Karla Zuluaga, Brittany (Tyler) Bessey, Brennen Claxton, and Kennedi Claxton; great grandchildren, Kaidence Bessey, Scarlett Bessey, and Makenna Bessey; siblings, Art Claxton, Jr., Kathy (Steve) Blevins, Sharon (Dorsey) Daniel, MeLisa (Dan) Claxton Bock, and Dana (Ron) Campbell; and many loving family members and friends.

A Visitation will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
