Jerry Lynn Davis, affectionately known as Jerry Lynn, was born on January 16, 1954, in Etowah, Tennessee. She passed away just one day before her 71st birthday on January 15, 2025, in Sharonville, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and indomitable spirit.
Jerry Lynn was the embodiment of resilience and brilliance, a testament to the idea that formal education does not define intelligence. Despite her limited schooling, she was one of the smartest ladies you would ever meet. A master of trivia games, her competitive spirit captivated all who played. Whether it was a casual game of Scrabble or a challenging puzzle, Jerry Lynn approached each moment with passion and enthusiasm. Her crafting skills shone brightly, and she brought joy and creativity to her projects—albeit with a feisty spirit when her glue gun was taken away by the nursing home.
Born to James Orville Locke and Amanda Ellen (nee Blackwell) Locke, Jerry Lynn understood the value of family from an early age. She became the cherished matriarch of her family, embodying the role of a beloved mother not just to her daughters but to many of their friends as well. Jerry Lynn took pride in her involvement with her daughters, Kimberly Lankford, Michelle (Matt) Tracy, Nichole (Ron) Leach, and Gina (Ron) Schmitt, participating actively in all their field trips and classroom activities. To them, she was not merely a mother; she was an unwavering support system, a confidante, and a guiding light.
Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she delighted in the company of her grandchildren: Brittany Moore, Elizabeth King, Wesley King, Austin Leach, Cole Schmitt, and Chase Schmitt, and her great-grandson, Kingston Williams. Each moment spent with them was filled with joy and cherished memories.
In addition to her pride in her daughters and grandchildren, Jerry Lynn had a spirited passion for life. She loved to sing, rejoicing in the melodies and rhythms that brought joy to her heart. She held a particular fascination with the paranormal and was always eager to indulge in ghost hunting whenever the opportunity arose. Her love for life was evident in her fondness for specialty drinks like margaritas, daiquiris, and mudslides.
Jerry Lynn now rejoins her father, James Orville Locke; mother, Amanda Ellen Locke; husband, William Joe Davis, with whom the family is convinced their reunion was a real head turner; granddaughter, Amanda Lankford; sisters, Betty Sue Locke and Mary Lou Hobson; and brothers, Bill Locke, Eugene Locke, James M. "Milburn" Locke, Clifford Locke, Clifton Locke, Raymond Locke, Fred Locke, Walter Locke, Leonard Locke and Aaron Locke.
Jerry Lynn leaves behind a legacy etched in the hearts of her daughters, grandchildren, and many loving family members and friends, including her dear friend, Esther (Dan) Dawson. She will be remembered not only for her quick wit and vibrant spirit but also for the profound love she extended to everyone around her, making every person feel special. As we cherish our memories of her remarkable journey, we take comfort knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
