Jo Ann Shake (nee Mack), 83, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 with her 3 children by her side.

Born on November 13, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio to James Earl Sr. and Viola Mae (nee Worst) Mack, her father died while serving his country in WWII when she was just 6 years old but she was blessed to have an incredible stepfather, John C. Hopkins, who also served.

She lived in Whittier, California for several years raising her family, where she volunteered with her kids' schools and athletic teams before returning to her home state of Ohio in 1998, retiring with her husband to a log house in the countryside.

She was a proud patriotic woman and life member of the NRA, who loved Ronald Reagan, Merle Haggard, and Tom Selleck and also enjoyed word search puzzle books, true crime shows, reading Michael Connelly novels and watching "Wheel of Fortune".

She was a secretary at General Electric in 1962 when she met and soon married her husband, Joe, who preceded her in death in 2007. Together, they built a successful manufacturing representatives company,

J Shake Associates, which allowed them to travel throughout the western United States which she beheld to be so beautiful.

A Homemaker who attended college in her 40's, she was first and foremost a loving Mom and Grandma.

Jo was also preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Travis J. Shake.

She is survived by her children,

Michael J. (Sandra) Shake,

John J. Shake and Vicki J. Shake,

Her grandson,  Jason J. Shake,

Her brother, James Earl Jr. (Mary Helen) Mack, sister, Nancy S. Burkhardt, sister-in-law, C. Ilene Ralston, cousin, Donald L. (Becky) Faecher, and many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.
