Joan Di Concilio

Joan Arlene Di Concilio, 77, of West Chester, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 28th, 2023. She was born to William and Dorothy Albiston on May 25th, 1946 in Rockville Centre, New York. Joan grew up on Long Island NY. After high school she attended Adelphi University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology – Medical Technology. She worked in the medical field for many years in several hospital labs as well as for the University of Rhode Island and for International Paper in Cincinnati, Ohio. She enjoyed reading, taking walks, word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, as well as cross stitch and other crafts. Her favorite food was dark chocolate – especially dark chocolate raspberry jellies. Joan’s all-time TV/mini-series/movie star crush was Richard Chamberlain. Some of her favorites of his were Dr. Kildare and The Thorn Birds. Joan also had a great love for dogs and adopted many into her family over the years. She was a kind soul who will be missed by many.

Joan is survived by her two children, daughter Karen E. Heim (husband Chris) and son Joseph W. Di Concilio (wife Michelle) and grandson Kendrick; her sister Doreen Albiston (husband Charles Kenney) and nephew Drew (wife Meghan) as well as other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick J. Di Concilio and her parents, Dorothy and William Albiston.

A memorial will be held at a future date. Memorial donations may be made in Joan’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
