John R. Borow

John R. 'Hap' Borow, 76, of Mason, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020. John was born on December 1, 1943 to John and Margaret (Richnavsky) Borow in Dunlo, Pennsylvania.

John served in the United States Army. He was very proud of his Czech heritage and everything that went along with it, especially Polkas on Sunday.  He had a strong work ethic and spent many years working in the coal mine as a Long Wall Foreman. He was also a DIY master, keeping his yard and landscaping immaculate.  He was very active with his hobbies of restoring his custom vehicles, all things aviation, home projects and of course, Pittsburgh Steelers Football. John was a man of family and faith and he will be missed.


John was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Margaret Borow; and his brother, Joseph Borow.

John is survived by: his children, Jason (Tammy) Borow; grandchildren, Dylan Borow, Ava Borow, and Liza Borow; and siblings, Gregory (Shirley) Borow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at St. Susanna Church, 616 Reading Rd, Mason, OH 45040 on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 9:30 AM until time of Memorial Mass at 10:30 AM.
