John Joe Evans, Jr

John Joe Evans, Jr, 89 of Hamilton passed away on February 29, 2024. Born in Logan, West Virgina to the late Dovie Mae Lucas Evans on June 29, 1934.

He was raised in Logan, West Virginia, served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force from August 1951-August 1955 proudly.

John was a member of the International Typographical Union and worked at the Palm Beach Post Times, West Palm Beach Florida, the Kokomo Tribune in Kokomo, Indiana and finished his career at the Hamilton Journal News. He worked in the printing industry his entire life.

John was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the St Louis Cardinals and Nascar.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Evans, his two daughters, Darrith Bishop and Darlene Lynn Evans, brothers, Frank, Oscar, Tennis, Howard, James, Willard and Clayton Evans and one sister, Grace Evans Lyons.

John is survived by his daughter, Beth Ann Shanks, his grandchildren, Courtney (Anthony) Mourey, Colton (Erica) Brown, Katherine Shanks and Benjamin Shanks, and his great grandchildren, Hailee, Archer, Lucinda and Winston.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5th from 11:30-12noon with a funeral service at 12noon all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton, OH.
