John Joseph Favaron, 74 of Mason, OH passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 20, 2021. John was born in Cincinnati on April 6, 1947 to the late Peter and Marie (Lucas) Favaron.
John was a loving and dedicated family man with a strong spiritual presence. As a young man, he and his father owned their own construction business, specializing in concrete finishing and stone works. This led him to develop a skill over the years to become Project Manager in the Commercial Renovation and Building Industry. He was a self-taught, very creative craftsman, completing a never-ending number of DIY projects around his home and for family and friends.
His love and devotion to his large family never wavered. He wasn’t much of a traveler but enjoyed the annual family trip to the beach for many years. John’s second love was golf. Although he didn’t start playing until later in life, when time finally permitted, he became quite good at it. He would play anytime, anywhere the opportunity would arise.
Other forms of relaxation he enjoyed were bowling, fishing, pitching horseshoes and playing Chess with his coworkers on their lunch breaks. And last but not least he loved having a beer on his front porch, sitting by the fire pit or hanging out around the pool with all his family and friends.
John was a quiet and reserved man, until he got to know someone, then he spoke fluent sarcasm. He had a very spiritual presence and studied the Bible relentlessly. He loved Military History and was brilliant in discussing any and all Wars dating back from the Bible to current day. This in turn would lead to lively discussions on Politics that became another passion.
John is the beloved husband of Linda Favaron (nee Knight), loving father of Christine (Henry) Bales, Sherri (Greg) Peak, John R. (Susanna) Favaron, Stacey (George) Grace, Chad (Meredith) Dwire, and the late Neil A. Favaron. Also devoted grandfather of Bradley, Brandon, Jack, Jessica, Jacob, Ellie, Ian, Carli, Cole, Carson and great-grandfather of Mackenzie, Jade, Susie Lou, Mark 'Buddy', Emily and Lorenzo, and dear brother of James, Tony and the late Mary.
A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 24, 2022.
