John "Bill" Juenke

John “Bill” Juenke passed away with his family at his side on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the age of 83. Bill was born on Thursday, March 27, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Marcellus and Martha (nee Reis) Juenke.

Bill was a jokester, he loved to make everyone laugh, the laughs he brought to everyone he met will be remembered fondly. He enjoyed family gatherings and hosting family and friends at his home.

Bill enjoyed all types of music and was a great singer while in the car. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle, bowling, golfing, betting on horse racing, going to the casino, and going to auctions.

For many years, Bill worked as dock worker in transportation. Before that, he found his passion of being a barber. He attended barber school and was a barber for 12 years. He was often heard to say that he left the barber business because “he couldn’t get ahead!”

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Janet Juenke (nee Borchelt), parents and siblings.

Survived by children; Catherine (Mike) Rupert, Randy (Mary) Juenke, Marc (Lisa Cantor-Jacobson)) Juenke and Kimberly (Jerry DeWitt) Juenke. Grandchildren; Brittany (Ben Bedinghaus) Rupert, Michael (Shelbie) Rupert, Mark Rupert, Brandon Smith, Tyler (Kasey) Juenke, Hannah (Kyle) Fury, Samuel Jacobson and Leah Jacobson. Great- Grandchildren; Patrick, August, Remy, Felix, Matilda, Baylee and expecting Grayson and Mason. Also survived by companion Mary Psihountas and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be at St. John the Evangelist Church, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, OH 45069 on Tuesday, September 3rd from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow at St. John’s Pavilion. Burial to follow the luncheon at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the SPCA of Cincinnati.
