John Jeffrey Schulthess 73, of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born to Harry Lee and Alice Elizabeth (nee Cashel) Schulthess, on December 31, 1948.
John worked as a salesman at Dr. Pepper for 38 years. It was said that John never met a stranger. He talked to everyone; he was the salesman that became your friend. He was known to be a great storyteller and loved to bring trivia into his conversations.
Growing up in Wisconsin, John played baseball, basketball, and football. He lived blocks from Camp Randall Stadium where the UW Badgers played football. He sold Coca Cola and programs inside the Badger stadium, which all started his love for sales.
John enjoyed golfing, that continued into his adulthood, if he wasn't in his work clothes, he was in a golf outfit. He used to go on outings with his work friends and referred to it as golf camp.
“The voice of the Cards” was what Colerain High School called John for over 20 years. He announced for basketball games and football games. Announcing brought much joy to him. It showed his love for all things sports and for Colerain.
John loved life and lived it to the fullest and when he walked into the room, he owned it. He was a comfortable presence to be around. He enjoyed traveling and some of his best memories come from cruises and trips with his wife, family, and friends. He especially enjoyed vacationing with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Harry Lee and Alice Elizabeth Schulthess, nephew, Mikel Schulthess and grandmother, Frances Cashel, who lived with his family for most of his life.
John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna (nee Wind) Schulthess, two children, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Schulthess and Heidi (Jeff) Siena, seven grandchildren, Jenna, Jakob, Julia, Nicolas, Lucas, Samantha and Madison, one brother, Jim (Mary) Schulthess, and many extended family and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 31st from 9:30-11:00AM with a mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM all at St Susanna Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
