John Wesley Sensibaugh

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Wesley Sensibaugh, age 68, who left us on December 27, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.

John was born on December 28, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Byron and Christine Sensibaugh. His life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love, lots of laughter, many old stories, and cherished moments spent with those closest to him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Debra (nee Merkle) Sensibaugh, and is lovingly remembered by his children, Chad (Gabby) Sensibaugh, and Chelsea (Andrew) Goodin. John was a proud and adoring Pops to his beloved grandchildren Grayson, Harper, Cooper, Wesley, and Lucille. He was also a brother to Ronald (Barbara) Sensibaugh and Cynthia Sensibaugh, and leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

John’s passions included spending leisurely Sundays playing golf with his son Chad and cheering for his favorite sports teams: the Seahawks, Ohio State, Xavier, and the Bengals. He found joy in watching westerns, particularly those starring his favorite actor, John Wayne. However, nothing brought him more happiness than attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. It was during these moments that he thrived, proudly taking on the title of “pops,” a term of endearment that his grandchildren used for him.

The family extends sincere gratitude to his nurse, Toni Hessling, for the exceptional care and compassion she provided to John.

Visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home, located at 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45069, on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.

In honor of John's remarkable life, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati.

Though he may be gone, John Wesley Sensibaugh will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
