It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Podsedly, age 64, who left this world on April 4, 2025. Born on June 2, 1960, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, Joe was the cherished son of John and Jeanne (nee Pyle) Podsedly.
Joe grew up in Geneva, Ohio, where he enjoyed a beautiful home with an active family, raising animals, gardening, tooling around the barn, or having an all-out backyard party. He especially loved his time down by the lake. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Dayton, where he met the love of his life, Susan. They celebrated their union in marriage in 1984 and were blessed with a wonderful son, Alex. Joe’s family was a constant source of joy and pride for him, and he leaves behind a loving mother, Jeanne Podsedly, as well as his father-in-law Barrett “Hank” Bolton. He is also survived by his siblings, John (Anne) Podsedly, Judy (Marc) Falcone, Jim (Maryellen) Podsedly, and Jeff (Beth) Podsedly, along with his devoted godmother Pat Bichsel and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Joe's life was filled with accomplishments and passions. He earned Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton and obtained his Professional Engineering certification. His quest for knowledge continued as he completed a Master's degree at Antioch University In Yellow Springs, Ohio. Joe had a very successful professional career as an Executive in printing and labeling. His leadership and stellar intellect helped establish flourishing businesses and pride-filled teams around the globe.
Beyond his professional achievements, Joe was a vibrant soul with a multitude of hobbies that brought him immense joy. He was an accomplished Taekwondo instructor, an avid sailor, photographer and an enthusiastic wine maker. His sense of humor was infectious; he had a treasure trove of jokes that never failed to bring laughter to those around him. Joe was also a master of DIY projects and took great pride in completing each task he undertook.
Joe had a profound appreciation for nature, often finding beauty in each sunset and the world around him. His love for his family and friends was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
A visitation in honor of Joe will be held at Mueller Funeral Home located at 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040, on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5720 Hamilton Mason Rd., Liberty Twp, OH 45011, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a lunch to follow.
As we remember Joe, let us hold tightly to the laughter he shared, the love he spread, and the many beautiful memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
