Joseph N Shurin Jr.

Joseph Shurin Jr., age 73, peacefully passed away at home on the morning of January 1, 2025. Born on November 2, 1951, in Somerville, NJ, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph Sr. and Margaret (Fletcher) Shurin. Joe was a proud graduate of Bound Brook High School, class of 1971, and was born with the gift of gab dedicating it to a successful career in sales, particularly in the propane industry. He was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Joe had a passion for life, and his greatest joy came from vacationing, hiking, fishing, camping, target shooting. He valued the time he spent playing corn hole with his family, neighbors, and friends whom he adored. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, nurturing deep connections with each of them. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Michele (April) Shurin; his children, Joseph (Laurie) Shurin III and Brianna (David) Bradford; and his cherished grandchildren: Brent Kight, Wade Kight, Emory Bradford, Lincoln Bradford, and Sloane Bradford. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Avery Kight and Colter Kight, expected to arrive in June 2025, as well as his sister, Dorothy “Cookie” Rodriguez, and his beloved Aunt Dodie Price. A memorial gathering will be held at Mueller Funeral Home on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
