Judith Ann Hennel, 81, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky, and wife for 59 years of Edward Hennel, died on September 27, 2024, of heart failure. Born in Jamestown, New York, on July 7, 1943, she was the daughter of Norman Wright and Evelyn (Burman) Haskins.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, dedicated to her family and her many friends. Everyone knows how much she enjoyed taking photos at all the family gatherings. Judy was a graduate of Mentor High School (1961), an accountant and a IBM keypunch operator prior to her marriage in 1965. She loved to read, sew, organize her numerous photo albums and spend time with her family.

Judy was an avid traveler and made friends on every trip. She always made a point to keep in touch with the fellow travelers she met along the way. Judy was also commissioned an Honorable Kentucky Colonel in 1998 by Governor Paul Patton of Kentucky for her work with Hospice of the Bluegrass.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter Heidi K. Fry. In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter, Heather (Markus) Schleidt, Middletown, OH; and one son, Heith (Teresa) Hennel, Windermere, FL, and eight grandchildren Addison and Bailey Fry; Mitchell (Taylor), Lukas (Ashley), Parker and Heidi Schleidt; McKenzie and Sydney Hennel; and one great-grandson Grayson Schleidt.
