Karen Koch

Karen Ann Koch , 51 of Mason, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021. Born to Leo J and Jo-Ann M (nee Dragan) Koch on August 4, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Karen was a very intelligent person. She was a Registered Nurse who earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1993, a bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies from the College of Mount Saint Joseph in 2003, a master’s degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Cincinnati in 2010 and a master’s in Healthcare Informatics from the University of Cincinnati in 2019. Karen worked for several local Cincinnati hospitals throughout her career in nursing, Good Samaritan, Drake and Jewish to just name a few. After earning her master’s in Nursing Administration, she utilized both her legal and healthcare education and experience by concentrating her efforts in the healthcare quality review and regulatory compliance fields. She was compassionate, caring had a heart huge and loved to care for people as well as her animals.

When Karen was younger, she played soccer, she liked to sew and one of her favorite trips beside Alaska and Hawaii was her trip to Germany touring the countries around the Alps. She was also a flute player, her mother used to turn off the radio and tv to listen to her play. It was so soothing.

Karen enjoyed spending time at Kings Island on the roller coasters, the ocean water, and traveling to German, Alaska and Hawaii. She had a true love for animals, especially her sweet puppies.

Preceded in death by her fur babies, Chestnut, Muffin and Scuffy.
Karen is survived by her loving parents, Leo and Jo-Ann Koch of Loveland, siblings, Lisa (William) Mack and Lee Koch, nieces and nephews, Joey and Kate Mack and Jack and Lauren Koch and of course her sweet pup, Pepsi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21st from 10:00am-11:00am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00am all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Inurnment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Karen’s name to the Cincinnati Zoo, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or to the Warren County Humane Society.
