Kathleen L. Alvey

Kathleen L. (Gorman) Alvey , aged 77, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023. Kathy was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 6th,1945.

In her youth Kathy lived in Chicago, Florida, Roselawn, then West Chester, Ohio area with her father and mother Gilbert and Dorothy (Ossman) Hoobler and her sister Patricia.  She graduated from Lakota High School. Kathy was a strong and devoted mother, to Missy and providing for their family as a trucking Salesperson.  In fact, her determination, drive, and tenacity even earned her the pioneering title of the first female salesperson in trucking in the Cincinnati area.  Her trucking affiliations were with OK Trucking and TNT Holland, presenting both through successful outside sales accounts until she retired to devote more time to her beautiful yard and family. In her everyday life, Kathy enjoyed following politics, and loved to sew and work in her yard.  Kathy is remembered fondly as well for her excellent sense of humor and wit--she absolutely loved to make people laugh.  But most of all, she loved to be with her family, and with her "pride and joy", her great-grandbabies.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Dorothy Hoobler.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Missy Cupp (Bruce); her grandchildren Holly Malicote (Dyllan) and Summer Short (Stephen); her great-grandchildren Lyla Malicote and Lakelyn Short; her sister Patricia Taylor (Don); her niece Tracy Wheeler (Steve); and her great-niece and nephews Gordon, Grady, Ellie Wheeler.

A memorial service will be held on July 1, 2023 in Morrow, Ohio at 5:00 pm.

In leu of flowers, donations can be made to The Christ Hospital Cancer research in the name of her niece, Julia Lynne Taylor.
