August 5, 1941 — April 22, 2024

Kathleen (Kathy) Faye (Delmore) Schmidt
August 5,1941 - April 22, 2024

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on April 22, 2024, age 82.  Kathleen Faye Schmidt was born to Dr. Jack Leo and Lorraine Geraghty Delmore on August 5, 1941, in Roseau, Minnesota.

Kathy was raised in Roseau and attended schools there through high school.  In high school, she was on the cheerleading squad and cheered the hockey team to the state championships in her sophomore and junior years, on ice skates.  She then studied nursing in Minneapolis where she became an RN and worked for a year before marrying the love of her life, Ed.  They moved to Iowa and there she was a stay-at-home mom raising her two kids. The family moved to Cincinnati and when the kids were in high school, she re-entered the work force as an occupational nurse at General Electric.  Kathy loved her job and was close with her fellow nurses who she also considered friends.  She retired after 15 years at GE.

Kathy was fun but even more fun to be around.  She loved to laugh, and she made her family smile with her ever cheerful personality.  She dearly loved God, her family and her church.  What pleased her most was caring for and spending time with her kids and grandkids.  Kathy was also proud of her Irish heritage.  She had many close treasured lifetime friends, but also never met a stranger.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Jack and Lorraine Delmore, her brother John Delmore and her beloved son, Steve Schmidt.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward Hale, daughter Suzy (Todd) Huss, grandchildren Katie and Connor Huss and Tyler Schmidt, and daughter-in-law Mary (Kevin) Kirwin. She is also survived by sisters Barb (Al) Blumer, Debbie (Bob) Duncan, brothers Jeff (Bonnie) Delmore and Tim (Sharon) Delmore.

A funeral Mass at the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist Church in West Chester, Ohio will be held for family only.

Memorial Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society .

Arrangements by: Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
