Kelsey Hildal - curious daughter, adventurous twin sister, loving granddaughter, sweet niece, fun-loving cousin, and special friend to many from all walks of life - lost hers on April 2, 2025. Along with her sister, Kelsey was born on December 23, 1990. She had a kind heart, a fiercely competitive nature, a creative way with the pen, a ferocious love of animals, and a voracious intellect. Kelsey was a true athlete whether it came to basketball, soccer or mixed martial arts (MMA) pursuits, she was all in. Kelsey's true north was her thirst for knowledge, insight, and understanding. She loved the phrase: "Everything is figureoutable" with this current circumstance being a clear exception. This beautiful soul was a fascinating being: kind, bright, loyal, and unforgettable.
Kelsey leaves behind her parents, Robyn and Rick Hildal; her twin sister, Alix Hildal Lafferty, her brother-in-law, Matt Lafferty and her brand new nephew, Barrett Kelly Lafferty; her grandmother, Joy Compton McComas; her uncle, Rocky McComas; her aunt, Laura McComas Smith; special cousins: Grant Smith, Troy Smith, Jessica O'Hearne, and Jason Smith and their families; as well as her paternal aunt and uncle, Joni and Ken Church. Kelsey was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Berwyn and Marty Hildal and her maternal grandfather, E. Paul McComas.
Please pray for the family as they grapple with this tragedy. Further, remain close to all you love and especially close to anyone in your circle who may be struggling with mental health issues.
If you wish, consider donating to Cincinnati Animal CARE -https://cincinnatianimalcare.org/ or to NAMI - https://nami.org/.
The family is being served by Mueller Funeral Home and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Every time we see a beautiful sunset, we will know you're smiling down on us. Peace be with you, Kel.
