Kurt Richard Armstrong, 72, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away on November 4, 2024. He was born to Richard Wilson and Daphne Emmabeth (nee Fine) Armstrong on October 9, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio.
Kurt was a video editor for 28 years before retiring from WLWT Channel 5 News. He started his career in Dayton, Ohio with Channel 22.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Kurt collected armed forces service flags as well as flags from various places he had visited. He loved studying WWII history and could identify almost every type of tank, rifle, and gun that appeared in any WWII show.
For several years, he volunteered as a blacksmith at Carriage Hill Farm.
No one ever felt like a stranger around Kurt, as he could strike up a conversation with anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Daphne Armstrong.
Kurt is survived by his beloved wife, Susan (nee Ware) Armstrong; children, Leesa (Bill) Armstrong and Michelle (Wayne Beattie) Armstrong; grandchildren, Trevor Shockey, Logan Shockey, Katie Shockey, Sage Boyd, Cerridwyn Okolica, Erin Beattie and Megan Beattie; great grandchildren, Caden Shockey, Ryder Shockey, Asher Murray, and Braxton Shockey; and his sister, LeeAnn (Patrick) Smiley. Kurt was the best cat dad to Jazmeen, Gracie, Riley, and Isabelle.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 18th, at 11:00am. The memorial service will begin at noon, followed by lunch, onsite, at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Rd Mason, OH 45040.
