Lawrence D. Toler

Lawrence D. Toler, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the age of 87.  He was born December 13, 1934 in Cyclone, West Virginia to Ezra and Jennie (nee Brown) Toler.

At the young age of 18, Lawrence met the love of his life, JoAnn McNeely.  After a few short months of dating, the couple decided to become husband and wife. Lawrence always believed hard work paid off.  As a young man, he began working in the construction business which provided him ample opportunities over the years to fix things around the house.  After several years of hard labor, Lawrence worked in the flooring industry.  During this time, the couple had moved from Cleveland to West Virginia, before landing in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1961.  It was here that Lawrence opened and operated his insurance agency, just recently retiring.

Lawrence adored JoAnn and together, they created a lifetime of memories.  An active member of West Chester Nazarene, he also enjoyed being outdoors and watching birds.  Lawrence has left a legacy that many will cherish for years to come.

Lawrence was preceded in death by: parents, Ezra and Jennie Toler; wife, JoAnn Toler; daughter, Elaine Mahaffey; grandson, David Nabel ; and siblings, Chester Toler, Lenore Baldwin, Freida Fischer, and Vester Toler.

Lawrence is survived by: daughters, Teresa (Dan) Viox and Jennifer (Brian) Nabel ; son-in-law, Bob Mahaffey; granddhildren , Robert, Amy, Alex, Jamie, Bethany, Joshua, Christopher, and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Anna, Eli, Natalie, Sam, Tucker, Madelyn, Emily, Molly, Parker, Charlie, Jack, Mills, Brett, Arianna, Allison, Eloise, and Nolan; and many loving family members and friends.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at West Chester Nazarene, 7951 Tylersville Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069.  Interment will immediately follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason.
