Liên Nguyen, 90, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 12, 2025.
Liên was born in December 1935 in Phat Diem, Ninh Bình, Vietnam. She was one of eight children of Nguyen Tuynh and Tran Thị Nhuản.
Liên Nguyen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and faithful follower of God. She leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will be remembered forever.
She found joy in the simple pleasures such as attending Mass, praying, taking walks, chatting with her friend Nhung, and going to Costco! She also received her fishing license just this past year. She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Lavang and St. Maximilian Kolbe, attending Mass in person every day until her health no longer allowed her to do so. The Vietnamese Catholic community feels her loss in every way.
Her life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and her deep faith in God. Liên retired early to care for her grandchildren, playing an instrumental role in shaping their lives and instilling in them the values of kindness, humility, and compassion. Her home was and remains a central gathering spot every Sunday for her children and grandchildren. Her selflessness knew no bounds, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own and lived her life as a true reflection of God’s love.
Her memory will be carried on by her husband Diem Ha; her children Châu and wife Thảo Mi, Báu and wife Hiền, Bảo and wife Liễu, Bảng and wife Hà, Bich and husband Phi, and Thuy and husband Bảo; and grandchildren Thúy Phượng (Gigi), Minh (Jonathan), Minh Hiếu (Vincent), Thùy Linh (Michelle), Duy (Dominick), Tường An (Annie), and last but not least, Minh Tâm (Minhty).
While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited in heaven with the rest of her seven siblings, including her youngest sister, Nhiên, who passed away just five hours after her in a long-term care facility for nuns in Cù Lao Giêng, Vietnam.
Liên’s unwavering faith and boundless love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed and fortunate to witness her kind spirit.
Liên’s visitation will be held on Friday, March 21 from 5-9pm at Mueller Funeral Home in Mason, OH. Mass will be held the following day at 10am on Saturday, March 22 at Our Lady of Lavang.
