Loretta Lee 'Lori' Buchanan

December 10, 1938 — February 27, 2020

Loretta 'Lori' Buchanan (nee Kozloski), 81, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Loretta was born in Michigan to Adolph and Dorothy Kozloski.

Loretta was the beloved wife of Dennis A. Buchanan for over 61 years, devoted mother of Daniel (Lisa) Buchanan, Peggy (Jim) Deutsch, Janet (Joe) Carlisle, Tammy (Paul Wallace) Buchanan and Patty (Doug) Smith, loving grandmother of Kevin, Sean, Anna, Emma, Maria, Jonathan, David and Hunter and great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Linus, Maddie, Radley, Sadie, Payten and Cheyanne, dear sister of Dorothy Kenney (late Frank) and Patricia Chearhart (late Fred). Loretta will be missed by her dear companion, Mittens the cat.

Loretta was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed. She loved her family and enjoyed camping, gardening, nature, and feeding and watching the birds and all God's creatures in the wild. Some of her favorite spots to camp and visit were around The Great Lakes, where she loved hunting for Petoskey and pudding stones, or morel mushrooms with her sisters. Her family was always her priority, making sure all holidays were special.  She expressed her creativity in many ways while raising her children, whether it be baking, decorating, sewing, playing the piano and accordion or acting as Den Mother for her son’s Boy Scout troop. Loretta shared an interest in antiques with her father. Hers was a life well lived.
