Marilyn Madar

April 29, 1944 — January 16, 2024

MAINEVILLE, OH – Marilyn Ann Madar (née Budnick) , 79, passed away peacefully Tuesday in her home in Maineville, Ohio with her family by her side.

Marilyn was born April 29, 1944 in Detroit. She was the revered daughter of the late Sylvia Ann Budnick (née Prebee) and the late August John Budnick. She was the beloved (youngest) sister of the late Harvey Budnick, the late Howard Budnick, and Donald Budnick.

She was blessed with five children: Jennifer Ann Kuzner, the late Janet Marie Bunge, Julianna Schopper, the late Jeffrey Madar and Stephan Arthur Madar.

Marilyn was beloved as a mother, grandmother and sister. A woman whose love and devotion to family was well known and respected by all who knew her. Sunday dinners were essential, and cherished!  Her grandchildren were the light and love of her life. She enjoyed spending time and playing with her newest grandchildren, and her even newer great granddaughter. Their laughter and joy symbolizing new life and breathing a breath of fresh air into an already blessed family. She was kind in a manner that is seldom seen in present day. Handling herself and events with a grace that was recognized by all who had the pleasure to know her. Uncompromising in her values, yet conveying a warmth that made everyone feel like family. Her children like to recall how frequently their own friends and acquaintances would exclaim “I love your mother!”

Marilyn, her friends would say, was the life of the party. She loved to dance! She taught her children to polka and swing, and was the very best partner, as long as she could lead! Marilyn made friends wherever she went. She had an infectious energy and a fiesty, often unexpected, sense of humor. She had a silly laugh that always brought a smile to those around her. Her group of friends at the Falls, where she lived, was extensive. And they were oh so close! Always looking out for one another, and having a ball!  She spent countless nights up at “The Pub” socializing, playing cards, and throwing parties for those closest to her.

Marilyn wanted us to remember, as her mother often reminded us as well, to dance on her grave. “Scuff up the marker to let them know we have visited! Continue to live, love and dance!”

Marilyn is survived by her brother Don (Sharon); her daughters Jennifer (Robert Gerard Kuzner) and Julianna (Dale John Schopper); her son Stephan (Caitlin Sullivan Hart); her son-in-law Joseph Richard Bunge Jr.; her grandchildren Jessica Lyn Kuzner, Samantha Marie Bunge, Joseph Richard Bunge III (Edwin Arnaldo Gierbolini II), Robert Roman Kuzner II, Ryan Paul Kuzner, Alec Michael Bunge (Emily Hamilton Bunge), Regan Nicole Schopper, Riley Grace Schopper, Tallulah Hart Madar and Fern Sullivan Madar; her great-granddaughter Madison Rey Bunge and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Arthur; her father August; her mother Sylvia; her brothers Harvey and Howard; her sister-in-law Aurelia “Ricky” and Antoinette “Toni”; her daughter Janet; and her son Jeffrey.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 21st at Mueller Hicks Funeral Home (6780 Roosevelt Ave., Middletown, OH) from 10 AM – 2 PM. An additional visitation with Rosary prayer will be held on Monday, January 22nd at St. Margaret of York Catholic Church (9499 Columbia Rd., Loveland, OH) from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM and will be immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
