Marilyn Catherine Reinelt, age 88, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully Friday, June 21st, 2019 in her home next to her loving husband of 64 years. She is remembered by all family members as a spiritual leader guiding many toward the love of Christ. Daily personal bible readings and prayer for the ones she loved were a way of life for her. She had a passion for singing and was a soprano soloist in her church choirs most of her life. Without hesitation, she provided loving family caregiving for her younger siblings, her own children, and beloved grandchildren. Family and faith were priorities throughout Marilyn's life.
She was born June 14th, 1931 in Erie, Pennsylvania. She married Karl Alfred Reinelt on August 27th, 1955. Karl and Marilyn traveled to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska together and enjoyed family cruises. She loved celebrating family events and traveling to get to them was never a deterrent. She leaves as her legacy three daughters, Kathryn Vance (Gerald, deceased), Kristine Gressman (Norman), and Karla Doerrer (Jeffrey). She also leaves to cherish her memory seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and six siblings; Jim, Carole, Abe, Bill, Bev, and Jack. Her family remembers her as loving, dedicated, funny, and having a strong, determined character.
She was preceded in death by Margaret Edwards (mother), Abe Edwards (stepfather), Shirley (sister), Linda (sister), and Carole (daughter).
Marilyn worked for a toy factory, and then spent many years as a homemaker. She returned to work with a goal to pay for all three daughters' college expenses and worked as an office manager at a survey center and then at an ophthalmologist's office. In her retirement, she volunteered for 11 years at Bethesda North Hospital's Seniority program and crocheted bonnets for the hospital's newborn babies.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service, 11:00 AM, at Tri-County Baptist Church, 8195 Beckett Rd, West Chester Township, Ohio 45069. A celebration of life with food will follow the memorial.
If desired, donations can be made to Center for Global Impact (www.centerforglobalimpact.org), where her granddaughter Whitney is employed.
