Martha J Davis

Martha J. Davis (“Marty”), 81, of Liberty Township, passed away with family by her side on May 29, 2023.

Born to Robert and Mary (nee Sabin) Davis in 1941, Marty grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, enjoying summers and family gatherings on the shores of Lake Michigan. She was a graduate of East Grand Rapids High School and DePauw University.

Kind, smart, spirited, and generous, Marty was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, a caring neighbor, and a friend to all animals. After raising her family in Grand Rapids, she retired to Jupiter, Florida. She spent her later years in Ohio, an active member of her community, involved in many charities and neighborhood activities.

Earlier in her life, Marty was a competitive golfer with three holes-in-one. She also traveled extensively, including in Europe and China. More recently, she most enjoyed time spent with family, card games with neighbors, puzzles, and books. She was an avid reader and library supporter and a former West Chester Library employee and volunteer. She even kept an active list of every book she had read.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Kay McIlhargey, and many beloved pets. She is survived by her two children, Debbie (Melody Pritchard) Wendell and Jeff (Laurie) Wendell; five grandchildren, Sam Wendell, Ben Wendell, Sela Wendell, Mahlet Wendell, and Jude Pritchard-Rooney; sister Jane Sabin-Davis; stepdaughters Mindy (David) Bratschie and Cathy (Doug) Dvorak ; and five nieces and nephews.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, June 16th from 2:00-4:00pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040. A future memorial will be private at Marty’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marty’s memory to Sassy’s Friends Fund via the Northern Cincinnati Foundation, in support of animal rescue and Wiggly Field Dog Park.
