May Ellen Werden

June 7, 1922 — March 23, 2019

It is with immeasurable heartache, we announce the separation from our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

May Ellen Werden (nee Viall) was welcomed into God's kingdom on March 23, 2019. She was surrounded by family and friends in her last hours and was escorted to their eternal home by her beloved
husband, George Werden of 71 years who made his passing five days earlier on March 18th of 2019.

May Ellen Werden, 96, resident of Chesterwood Village in West Chester, Ohio died on March 23, 2019. She is preceded in death by husband, first-born child, parents, twin sister, three brother-in-laws,
and one sister-in-law. She and twin sister, Dora Elizabeth Erickson were born on June 7th and 8th respectively in 1922 in Akron, Ohio to the late William Walter Viall and Susanna Cree Viall (nee McLoughlin).
She was a graduate of Norwood High School and in her later years earned an Associates Degree from the Raymond Walters branch of the University of Cincinnati. On March 6, 1948 she married George
Washington Werden and had five children, the late George Werden (Vicki); Patricia Ranz (Steven); Robert Werden (Tomi); William Werden (Sharen); and John. She also leaves behind grandchildren Dustin
Werden (Holly); Meredith Stillson (David); Lauren Mersch (Adam); Zachary Werden (Stacey); Robert Werden (Jen) and Mary Werden and seven great grandchildren: Emerson, Harper, Nick, Ella, Hudson,
Knox and Ethan. This is the family she built her life on and the legacy she leaves behind. She bravely battled health issues her entire life. In an era when the greatest "job" that could be done was that of raising
children while fathers often worked two jobs (which George did), her labor of love was masterfully completed.

Those we love can never be more than a thought away for as long as there's a memory they are in our hearts to stay. Love you Mom.
