Melissa A. Flohn (nee Whitis), 60, of Mason, OH passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 10, 2020. Melissa was born in Cincinnati March 20, 1960
Melissa was the loving wife of Dan Flohn, beloved daughter of Janet and the late Bill Speigle and daughter-in-law of the late Patsy and Harold Flohn, devoted sister of Warren (Susie) Whitis, Michael Whitis and Russ (Wendy) Speigle, sister-in-law of Sharon Weatherly, Debi Pennekamp, Trish (Joe) Russo, Chip (Michelle) Flohn and Don Pennekamp and the late Joey Flohn, Mary Kay Flohn and Ina Flohn, also survived by many nieces and nephews. But most importantly was her love for her precious Dude and Buddy.
Melissa was a beautiful and loving wife. She was proud of her achievements in starting businesses and helping others, especially women to be successful. Her creative and sales-oriented mind allowed her to pursue most any idea she conceived. She served on the Board of Directors at Hope House in Middletown, OH helping women and kids figure out how to live life. Melissa was never afraid of work. She explored many different types of careers. A couple of her mottos were: PERKINS - "If you have time to lean, then you have time to clean" and Selling anywhere, mostly trade shows - "Can't sell if you're sittin". She will be missed by many!!
She was a manager at Perkins restaurants at age 17, then a realtor with Sibcy Cline for a few years, also owned/started many businesses including: Confetti's Party Store, Petals and Things Florist, Bluebird Cafe, Lobby Latte, Girlfriends Gifts, Girly Girls, LaCrema Coffee, Flohns Farm, and 2 Girls & a Goat. Finally she went back to Real Estate at Comey Shepherd.
She stated she was going to retire :-) and write a book with the urging of her good friend Amy Gantt. The title was going to be: "You can't just make this shit up", based on the crazy things she has encountered in her business life and things she has suggested to her woman business friends to resolve their issues.
Her last promised real estate deal (to her husband) closed 2 hours before her death.
