Melvin F. 'Mel' Shafer

Melvin 'Mel' F. Shafer, 85, of Mason, OH passed away with his family at his side on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Mel was the beloved husband of Mary E. (nee Fischer) for over 58 years, devoted father of Michele (Jeff) Juillerat and Mike Shafer, loving grandfather of Faith (Brady) Minturn, Stephanie Juillerat, Cannon Shafer and Carson Shafer and great-grandfather of Kaylen, Wyatt and Kendall Minturn and Skye and Bentley, also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Mel was a wonderful husband and father. He had a very warm and kind personality and a great sense of humor. He liked most sports. He played golf, basketball and bowling. Bowling is where he met his lovely wife Mary. They enjoyed going to Florida being 'snowbirds' for 18 years. Mel loved spending any time he could being at the grandkids sporting events. When he would take time to relax Mel liked to watch TV especially the "Price is Right" game show. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial visitation will be at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 3 PM until time of Memorial Service at 5:00 PM.
