Mickey Nicora

Mickey Nicora, 80, of Morrow, formerly a long time resident of Mason passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Mickey was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Peter and Mary (nee Gavrus) Nicora.

Mickey was proud to have served his country, serving 4 years in the United States Army as part of the 101st Airborne Division (The Screaming Eagles). Mickey loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and friends. He was the kind of person that would do anything to help someone. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when it came to fishing or working in his garden. He always had the greatest tomatoes that he was happy to share. Mickey was also a terrific baker. He made great chocolate chip cookies and 'buckeyes'. Even though Mickey had lived in Ohio for many years, he was still a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was also a long time member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Nicora, his beloved wife Mary Nicora, his brother George Nicora, and his sister Viola Nicora.

Mickey is survived by his devoted son Bob Nicora and daughter in law Jennifer Nicora, his loving grandchildren, Haleigh and Dylan Nicora, and his siblings, Florence Irwin, Connie Nicora, Linda Tosto, Pete Nicora, Danny Nicora, and Rudy Nicora. Mickey is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 11:30 AM until time of Prayer Service at 12:30 PM. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery following service.
