Mildred Guthrie

Mildred Margaret Mary Dolan Guthrie , (age 95) of Venice, Florida, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, born February 7, 1925, in Newport, Kentucky.

Preceded in death by brother, James, by husband, Richard, and by daughter, Janis.

Survived by daughter, Joan (Greg) McIntyre; sons Doug (Rosalie), Paul (Susie), David (Susanna) and Kirk; grandchildren, Anne, Christopher, Cori, Cypress, Jared, Jean, Kyle, Michael, Molly, Quinton, Sidney, and Tessa (Juniper); and, great-grandchildren, Akasha, Ava, Caitlyn, Clarke, Dylan, Jasper, Makiya, Mason, Phoenix, and Robert.

Mildred was a force of nature, a strong fighter for herself and her family. She was proud of her Newport family roots. She enjoyed literature and vocabulary, learning new words and ideas. She maintained a strong belief in the Catholic faith throughout her life. The family would like to thank the Take Care Home Health staff, the nurses at Venice Hospital, Meals on Wheels Venice, and her friend Joan Cain for all the help they provided for Mildred during these last few months.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 29th, from 10:00am-10:30am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, Ohio. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30am also in church. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 701 E. Ross Avenue, Saint Bernard.
