Nancy K. Arulf (nee Kirby), 90 of Mason, passed away on August 8, 2023. Born to Thomas Russell and Louise (nee Saxon) Kirby on January 29, 1933, in Florence, South Carolina.
Growing up in a rural farming community, attending school in a one room schoolhouse and later moving on to the “city life” for additional schooling, Nancy went on to attend Winthrop College South Carolina’s College for Women, it was there she majored in mathematics. After graduating in 1954 Nancy went on to work for GE in Evendale, Ohio for the next six years.
Meeting the love of her life through her connections with GE, Nancy and Curt met in 1957 and were married in October of 1958. She would describe it as one of the most interesting and wonderful times of her life. She became a stay-at-home mom for her children and later went back to work in the teaching field for 12 years.
Life moving quickly again, Nancy and Curt moved their family to Sweden for work. Enjoying the opportunity to get to know her in-law’s entire family and transferring her Delta Kappa Gamma membership to the Tri-City Chapter allowed her to meet new friends that she would have for a lifetime.
Life brought Nancy and Curt back to the US and in 2000 back to Cincinnati. She returned to her Gamma Phi Chapter which began another phase of her life. She was the Treasurer for many years and joined the Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati.
